Baptism is the one sacrament that all Christian denominations share in common. Baptism is the first of seven sacraments and the way in which a person becomes a member of the Catholic Church. In the Catholic Church, infants are baptized to welcome them into the Catholic faith and to free them from the original sin they were born with. Anyone who has not already been baptized can receive the sacrament of Baptism in the Catholic Church. Baptism leaves an permanent mark on the soul and there is no way nor any reason that one could be re-baptized.
